(NOTE: this is the provisional and approximate route and may change pre-departure and/or during the expedition)

Start of Expedition: STORIES FROM THE SILK ROAD

Estimated Start date:  28 September 2023

Start Location: Istanbul

Entering from NW border with Uzbekistan and walking east to the border with Kyrgyzstan.
At least the Fann Mountains and Hissar Traverse sections of the Pamir Trail will be included
in the section before reaching Dushanbe.

Provisional Route Details: TAJIKISTAN

• There's a possibility that I will incorporate part or all of the Pamir Trail into the routes in  Tajikistan.
• Currently the are still sections of the Pamir Trail being researched and explored. I will be staying in contact with the teams on the ground and contribute (exploring, trail marking and clearing) to the development of this trail where I can.

• Total Country Distance:  1,119 km - 699 miles 
• Estimated Total Duration:  58 days
• Including anticipated rest days, visiting sites and talking to/interviewing people for the project.

Main Locations along the Route 

• Jartepa-Sarazm (border) - Panjakent - Artuch - Dushanbe - Kulob - (Pamir Region) - Qalai-Khumb - Rushan - Gudara - Karakul - Kyzyl-Art Pass

    Border: Kyzyl-Art Pass and exit to Kyrgyzstan
